Biography
Mr. Marx is a member of the Personal Injury Law practice group. He handles matters of wrongful death, negligence, civil rights, professional liability (including medical and legal malpractice) and insurance related litigation.
Mr. Marx has extensive experience representing plaintiffs and defendants (municipal, insured and uninsured) in state and federal courts in complex and large exposure matters, including those that arise from violations of New York labor laws, federal and state constitutions, professional liability and general negligence.
Mr. Marx typically represents individuals who have been catastrophically injured and/or sued for significant money damages arising from claims of negligence or violation of law. Mr. Marx represents individuals and corporations who have been sued for amounts in excess of their insurance policy limits in order to eliminate or limit uninsured exposure. Corporate clients include Hartford Insurance Group, Travelers Insurance Company and the Texas Guaranty Association. His municipal clients include the County of Westchester.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Marx was the senior partner with the law firm of Marx & Aceste, LLP. Before that, he was the Senior Trial Attorney with the law firm of David E. Worby.

Cases of Note
- Travis v. Village of Dobbs Ferry: Mr. Marx prevailed on a motion for Summary Judgment in a Civil Rights action brought by a woman subjected to an illegal strip search by police officers employed by the Village of Dobbs Ferry.
- 47th Street Steakhouse v. Rockefeller Center: Mr. Marx successfully argued the appeal of Orders of the United States Bankruptcy and District Courts which held that a debtor in bankruptcy who assigns a lease for security purposes maintains its interest for purposes of the application of the automatic stay provisions of the United States Bankruptcy Code.
Verdicts of Note
- Eckstein v. Eckstein - Mr. Marx represented a woman who
sued her ex husband for personal injuries suffered by her
as a result of beatings inflicted by him during their marriage.
This marked the first time in New York State history that
an ex spouse brought such an action successfully.
